Kathy Wheeler is the Assistant University Librarian for Collections for the University Libraries at the University of South Alabama, where she is responsible for developing, assessing, and managing collections. Before she took on her current role, she was the Head of Reference & Instruction at USA Libraries for five years. Her interests include predatory publishing practices, ebook and video purchasing models, and affordable learning initiatives. She received her MLIS from Louisiana State University, her MA in English from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, and her BA in Chemistry and English from Newberry College in Newberry, SC.
