Annette Thomas was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of the Scientific & Academic Research business of Clarivate Analytics in September 2017; having served on its board since March 2017. Her career spans nearly 25 years in scientific and educational publishing – most recently, she held the post of Chief Scientific Officer at Springer Nature. She began her career as a cell biology editor for Nature, before being appointed managing director of Nature Publishing Group, followed by chief executive of Macmillan Publishers Ltd, and then Chief Executive Officer of Macmillan Science and Education.
